new model. At the rear, a longer and lower

boot lid lends a more sleek appearance to

the side profile. The horizontal single ellipse

LED tail lamps have been matched with a

new interpretation of the Bentley “Horse

Shoe” feature, which now runs the full

width of the car.

TheWraith available in two-toned paint

retains the sleek lines of the fastback, a style

that originated in the 1930s automotive

design. With its bold lines, tension in the

panels and a raked rear screen, Rolls-

Royce say it evokes the image of a world

class athlete poised in the starting blocks.

Built around a steel monocoque body,

there is no separation of chassis and body.

The traditional pantheon grille has a more

functionally derived air intake compared to

that of a jet turbine. It is recessed by 45mm

and the surround has been lengthened by

40mm,while the bumper has been designed

to incorporate the number plate surround

with a focused lower air dam. The Wraith

has a shorter wheelbase than the Ghost

with a wider rear track, longer bonnet and

raked glass house.

TheVerdict

Without a doubt the Bentley Flying Spur

and the Rolls-Royce Wraith are both

sensational cars. They are powerful, fast

and unique in their designs, and there is

so much more to discover than what has

been mentioned here.Whilst the unveiling

of both models has been described by

some as a Bentley vs. Rolls-Royce battle

or the Battle of Britain, they both delivered

a hard task for the world’s super rich to

decide which model would look best on

their forecourt or in their garage. With the

Flying Spur’s fresh new look and improved

ride comfort expected to be priced from

£150,000 and the Wraith’s super-luxury

coupe around £215,000, the price tag

won’t be a problem for some.The question

is, which one of these would they choose

– the four-door dynamic Flying Spur or the
