AS LAMBORGHINI CELEBRATES 100 YEARS OF

INNOVATION IN HALF THE TIME,

JADA BROOKES

CATCHES A GLIMPSE OF THEIR CELEBRATORY ITINERARY.

Y

ou’ve probably guess by now,

we’re a little Lamborghini crazy

at the moment. Not only has

the Italian marque churned

out new models, namely the Aventador

LP-400, Veneno and most recently the

Egoista, like they’re giving out Cornettos

but they have also reached the 50 year

milestone in the history of Italian motoring.

To mark this prestigious occasion,

Lamborghini celebrated with a Grand Tour

in which a convoy of 350 cars took to

the road from the House of the Raging

Bull.

The tour started from Milan, capital

of Italian design, fashion and finance and

travelled through the beautiful landscapes

of Lombardia, Toscana, Lazio, Umbria and

Emilia Romagna, stopping over in Forte

dei Marmi (one of the most exclusive

and fashionable resorts on the Tyrrhenian

coast), Grosseto, Roma, San Giustino

Valdarno and Bologna, until it reached its

final destination in Sant’Agata Bolognese,

for the final celebrations of the 50th

anniversary.

The open air exhibition of all the

models that wrote the history of the

brandwas a true testament to the successful

innovation and vision of Lamborghini. From

the first car produced in 1963, the 350 GT

down to the current Gallado andAventador

models, the models drove past staring

onlookers, flashing cameras and applauding

citizens and enthusiasts. It was a proud and

momentum time for Lamborghini and Italy

as a whole.

The finale of the celebrations was an

exclusive gala dinner held at the factory

where 1,000 guests were invited. Many

of the invitees were honorary guests

and those who contributed to creating

the Lamborghini legend including Gian

Paolo Dallara, Mauro Forghieri, Paolo

Stanzani, designers Marcello Gandini and

Filippo Perini, Fabio Lamborghini and

Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Ducati. The

celebrations were nothing short of amazing

as guests were given the signal to enter the

hall by the arrival of a majestic Italian Navy

EH 101 helicopter, applauded the winner of

Lamborghini’s 50th Anniversary Concorso

d’Eleganza contest prize, a 1969 Miura P

400 S belonging to Norwegian collector

Harald Skjoldt and once owned by Frank

Sinatra and a fireworks show at the end

of the dinner accompanied by an original

soundtrack composed specifically for the

event. Performances by band Mandoki

Soul Mates, and legendary 90s singers Paul

Young, Howard Jones and Midge Ure ended

the evening with a captivating concert.
