Up-and-coming Central Saint Martins graduate
Tahir Sultan
closed fashion week with an
empowering collection which is sure to secure
his authority in the British fashion industry.
The designer of Kuwaiti and Indian heritage
explored different travels and journeys in his
collection. The sandy plains of the desert were
represented in the use of sandy shades, loose
chiffon sundresses, wide-legged trousers and
shawls, which provided an unusual choice
for an autumn/winter collection. However,
Sultan transported his traveller from the
sweltering heat of the summer sun into a
more appropriate climate and attire through
effectively layering capes and woollen pieces
over evening dresses. The jewelled detail and
body-con dresses introduced later in the
collection transported Sultan’s image from
daywear to eveningwear and added more
diversity to a wearable and quirky collection.
