The Bite Magazine - Spring/Summer 2025 - Issue 37
bitecatwalk D imitra Petsa delivered an intimate and mythological collection, drawing inspi- ration from ancient storytelling, bodily memory, and the sacred language of water. The show began silently in a raw, light-filled space that evoked a temple and a theatre. Then, like a tide returning to shore, the models emerged bare- foot, moving slowly and fluidly. The garments clung to the body and draped like second skin, referencing the designer’s signature ‘wet look’ aesthetic, but this season felt less like performance and more like resurrection. The colour palette ranged from bone and blush to deep sea greens and oxidised bronzes, evoking earth tones that appeared worn by time. The fabrics were semi-transparent and sensual, featuring fine silk, mesh, and tulle that seemed soaked and sculpted. Wet drapery twisted around hips and chests, echoing classical sculpture, yet was strikingly modern due to exposed seams, asymmetry, and intentional slippage. A sheer slate-blue dress, twisted and tied with cords, felt like it had been unearthed from the ruins of Atlantis—if the legendary island had a nightclub. This season, Petsa’s fascination with the body, fluids, cycles, and narratives took on a more protective tone. Soft armours were created from layered gauze and metallic netting that shimmered like fish scales, and corsets resembled ancient breastplates. One standout look paired a translucent tunic with ceram- ic adornments tracing the spine and sternum, resem- bling relics fused with flesh. Embroidery and poetry were stitched into garments like secret prayers featuring tiny Greek, English, and Arabic scripts that read like diary entries, love letters, or invocations. It added a deeply personal layer, grounding the ethere- al beauty in something raw and human. These garments transcended clothing, serving as confessions, shields, and memories. The casting remained faithful to the Di Petsa ethos: diverse and unapologetically honest, with bodies that breathed life into the garments rather than wearing them. Pregnant models, curvier bodies, and non-tradi- tional beauties walked the runway like goddesses returned to earth. It was a confident reminder that the female body remains the central muse in all its forms. The show closed with a baptismal moment: a model stood beneath a light misting of water, the fabric clinging tighter as the poetry across her chest blurred and ran. It was theatrical, yet not forced. Pet- sa has always understood that water holds memory and has allowed it to speak here. This emotional couture collection cannot be reduced to trends or bullet points. It exists where mythology meets menstruation, vulnerability becomes armour, and the feminine is sacred and feral. Di Petsa does not follow fashion’s rhythm; she follows the moon, the tide, and the wound. We are fortunate to witness it. https://dipetsa.com FASHION WEEK LONDON Spring/Summer 2025 DI PETSA
