The show was a masterclass in meditative fashion, balancing softness with severity and fluidity with discipline. The collection adhered to the brand’s signature elements—intricate lay- ering, utilitarian cuts, and a restrained colour palette— while embodying a newfound stillness. The silhouettes were longer and more statuesque. Fabrics such as diaphanous organza, weightless silks, and soft cotton voile were layered over rigid tailoring in sun-faded neutrals, creating movement reminiscent of water. The opening looks featured elongated tunics over wide-leg trousers and belted robes that wrapped the body like armour while allowing air to flow, presenting a monastic yet ethereal beauty. Tiny, handmade embroideries traced like veins across the sleeves, and delicate metal clasps adorned open backs. A standout sheer sand-coloured trench coat with internal corsetry and exposed seams, worn over silk shorts, felt vulnerable and commanding. Contrasting the austerity of the cut, the embellishments infused life into the garments. Beading was used sparingly, almost surgically, to emphasise a collarbone or the arc of a shoulder. Some garments appeared sun-bleached, as if unearthed from an ancient desert palace, while others shimmered like mirages, their metallic threads catching the light with each step. The embellishment did not serve opulence for its own sake; it was story-driven, symbolic, and almost ritualistic. The casting reinforced the ethos of quiet strength. Models walked at a measured pace, often barefoot or in minimal sandals, their faces clean and hair slicked back. The styling was universal, ageless, genderless, and seasonless. This collection made a statement about enduring presence. The final looks were the most poetic—a series of trans- lucent, layered gowns in stormy greys and pale golds stitched with fragments of poetry in Chinese characters. As the models moved through the space, it felt like watching the wind pass over water. The last model stood still as others glided past her, a quiet gesture that felt more profound than a typical closing walk. Creative director Demon Zhang explores the theme of inner power. The SS25 collection responded to chaos, inviting viewers to slow down, dress intentionally, and find sanctuary in fabric. There is something undeniably comforting in clothing crafted for ceremony and surviv- al. Mithridate was not designed to impress in the usual sense; instead, it was made to be absorbed slowly, like incense smoke or a whispered prayer.
