The designer explored the effect of natural dyes, trying to create less muted hues on his draped linens. Quilting was a staple of these garments; handcrafted flowers hung from models decorated with hand-knotted fabric and sometimes sheer materials. However, each outfit’s accessories shone through. Dramatic sweeping veils, understated striped head coverings, and silver paint across the models’ bare feet made the collection fantastical. Seeing such earthy compassion in this showcase was unsurprising, as the designer is adamant about his responsibility throughout the design process. https://www.paolocarzana.com FASHION WEEK LONDON Autumn/Winter 2024 Justin T his collection had exciting stand- outs, such as a coat falling like an opera curtain from the shoulders, a layered skirt and trousers glistening delightfully as the model walks, and a suit blazer with sheer cutouts on the sleeve. Var- ious looks followed subtly asymmetric lines and largely monochromatic styling between these pieces. However, the occasional burst of colour excited me the most. Cassin threw in a leather trench coat in olive and a tailored blazer decorated with flowers in the ready- to-wear staples.
