The Bite Magazine - Autumn/Winter 2023 - Issue 34
bitecatwalk O k, Edward Crutchley, you’re a clever, deep- ly expressive designer who can proficiently blend the old (in this season’s case, very old with medieval/renaissance eras fashion) with modern silhouettes and styling. I applaud your humorous use of tongue-in-cheek Art Deco cartoon figures in various states of dress featuring a questionable placement of codpieces. However, I much preferred your more Jack- son Pollock, black-and-white looks. The round sunnies added another layer of quirk to these otherwise serious, modern shapes that were mainly hitting on the androgynous side with slight nips and tucks here and there was an oversized blazer or creamy white loose knitted sweater that was a bit crooked, but I’m sure it was intentional. I especially like the polished menswear made womenswear suiting in look #14 and the chic black and charcoal grey coordinated set in look #17. I also loved the ear flap beanies paired with the round-lensed sunnies, which are ageless. EDWARD CRUTCHLEY
