The creative admires and is inspired by fellow contempo- rary jewellery designers Hannah Martin and Marla Aaron. “I love their brand ethos. For aesthetic inspiration, I tend to look more at small local designers from the Mediterrane- an.” From her list of celebrities, she would love to see A$AP Rocky, Jennifer Aniston, and Scarlet Johansson wear her jewellery. Her favourite models are Quannah Rose, whose look and what she represents she admires and Behati Prin- sloo, who has a natural look and great energy. One of Stephanie’s favourite colours is the relaxing hue of blue, which represents the brand. The designer loves gold, particularly 14 karats, as it gives a beautiful sand colour that fits well with the image and story of AU79. Preparing for a fashion shoot or show is a lengthy process, starting from inception, deciding the theme and building the idea of the shoot or show around it. “The venue or location and pho- tographer would be next. Then a plan of how the day would happen and how each piece would be shot or worn. Both have much prep work, but a show requires more planning.” The designer would advise aspiring jewellery designers to go for it. “It’s not easy, but if you love it, go for it.” Her big- gest goal is to see clients happy wearing her jewellery. “One other main goal is to grow AU79.” The brand offers a be- spoke service whereby they can design a piece individually for you, which generally takes 3-4 months.
