The concept behind Aadnevik’s ‘Half Moon’ AW22 col- lection sees the designers inspired by the mythical and mysterious wolf moon and Norse mythology.The story goes that inseparable giant wolves, Sköll and Hati, off- springs of the wolf god, Fenrir and the giantess, Larnvid- ia, would relentlessly hunt the sun (Sol) and the moon (Mani) to devour them (since they were constantly dis- tracted). If the wolves succeeded, this would signal the world’s end, known as the Ragnarök. The opening mini black dress with crystalised bows down the front and accessorised with bracelets and a choker was eclipsed against the backdrop of a large half moon, trees and wolves to evoke powerful sensuality. More mini ensembles followed these with tassels, frills, tutu, glitzy silver, lace and structured basque-inspired silhouettes.They almost had vampish but sophisticated vibes that kept your eyes glued to the details. It wasn’t all short throughout; a long lacy layered tas- sel piece sauntered down the runway with a high split and the same basque effect.The next ensemble was a crossed strap heart-shaped glitzy green mini dress with a satiny train at the back. I liked the so- phisticated glittery blue dress with spaghetti straps, a heart-shaped neck, feathery tassels on the shoulders and a thigh split on one side. Aadnevik wowed the audience with more beautifully constructed pieces to consider wearing to an elaborate event.
