bitecatwalk PAULCOSTELLOE P ioneer designer Paul Costelloe presented what one may say is an eye-opening interpretation of the golden age from history, whilst another may perceive his AW22 collection as the desired court romance. The elegant setting at theWaldorf Hilton hotel in London captured the essence of the prestigious regal collection with intricate prints, satiny fabrics, tartan tendencies and puffed sleeves. Every look made me wish I was draped in one of his designs. It had a modern medieval feel condescending to the Renais- sance and Tudor periods that had me envisioning a ballroom dance at a debutante.The opening gold frilly dress showcased the exclusive Costelloe print realised byWilliam Clark in Maghera, Northern Ireland. If there were a modernised ver- sion of Bridgerton, these apparel would fit nicely in the fashion aspect.The ruff complemented the puffed-sleeved golden bronze mini dress that moved delicately as it walked. The bronze palette gave way to a black checkered print dress with layered frills and plain white apparel. Flowery Elizabe- than-type patterns flowed through the space with the same puffed sleeves, a plunging v-neck lapel collar or heart-shaped before a radiant red powered through, presenting the square- neck look that Jane Eyre wore.The looks returned to the exclusive print look before black arrived in a puffed-sleeved, square-neck flowing dress. Intriguing was the high-neck, shoulder, slim bodice dress with ruches and a flared skirt that would be a sexy number on the dance floor.The off-shoulder dress with balloon sleeves, stringed bodice and flowing skirt descended the stairs with fi- nesse. A vast puffed-sleeved v-neck with a long skirt followed it.The collection was a joy to watch and shows Paul Costel- loe still knows how to wow a crowd. www.paulcostelloe.com
