bitemen Justin Gall L et’s all agree, hype culture and fashion are now a solid fashion genre. That being said, welcome to my ever-so-extreme take on clothing! You are bringing a needed and incredible spin to the humdrum of life. This season, Justin Gall presented his collection, ‘Murk’, drawing upon his signature style of mixing the unassertive with the bold. All the well-made and tai- lored pieces featured rigid lines and angles, silhouettes of varying shapes and sizes, which were then paired with complete complementing opposites. For example, look #7 appeared to be a fighter pilot jumpsuit slowly over- taken by a puffer snowsuit from underneath. Look #13 showed a fur jacket that was squeezed beneath a metallic cropped olive green puffer vest and wore over matching puffer pants. Look #20 was a homage to a vin- tage British fighter pilot who appeared to skin a bear for his large fur knickers after crash landing into a deserted forest. I like Justin Gall’s aesthetics! It is eerily attractive and whimsical in the sense that this may be the future of urban streetwear. It draws on classic and vintage work uniforms, catapults it into space, and then falls back to Earth via survival of the fittest, coming out of a stint in a remote jungle. The cocoon-like puffer vests and sin- gle-plated hooded chest ‘scarves’ are all something that could be both trendy and functional.
