That being said, Fendi never disappoints in deliv- ering a fantastic runway event that pre- sents Italian fashion and design at its finest. This collection only furthered Fendi’s fame as one of the ultimate leaders in menswear designs. As the line-up walked a somewhat diz- zyingly lit runway, the clothing were an updated version of the brand’s classic core silhouettes and cuts. However, while the core look was evident, every ensemble hid a new twist or surprise take on things, little tweaks and details to update the established roots. Look #3 featured leather wide-legged shorts and a simple logo printed top worn with sheer knee-high tights and sport sneakers, a baseball cap and a tote bag; all the while layered under a beautiful pale fawn tailored overcoat complete with a white lapel flower. Look #25 had a ‘70s vibe that interest- ed me; the mauve sweater had a daring high chest cutout below the neckline and billowy pants with sneakers and a mini shoulder bag. Look #35 looked like they took the basic cable knit sweater, stretched it into a dress with side slits, split the turtleneck neckline, added a chest cutout, and paired it over shorts with the sheer tights and loafers. Look #48, my favourite, is a beautiful milky wool suit layered with a tuxe- do-like blazer and coat over classic suit pants, but then there’s the silver metal- lic micro mini shoulder bag - love it! The history of menswear is there, it’s ever-present, but the push is to mod- ernise howmen dress for work in a typ- ical office and their interpretive style and tastes.
