The Bite Magazine - Autumn/Winter 2022 - Issue 32

bitefashion As the creative director of TruFlair, Miracle held the reins of the luxury house through extravagant, innovative and ex- ceptional bridal collections like Obsession in 2019, Romance and Grandeur Collection in 2020 and Eternal Collection in 2021. Her signature design is beadwork paired with bold and daring designs. The fulfilment that comes from transforming a garment from nothing to something is what the designer enjoys the most. “How an idea in my head could turn into a masterpiece” is the most exciting part of the creative process for the founder. As with most designers, constructing a piece depends on the complexity of the garment. On average, a wedding dress takes six months to create, while a luxury evening dress takes one month to complete. Miracle revealed she enjoys the crea- tion process, from sketching her ideas to constructing the garments and seeing the finished product. She first chooses the theme and designs the garments when preparing for the fashion show. “I get all the vendors that fit into the style to bring the inspiration to life.” The designer is comfortable working with every colour, although she has fallen in love with ivory since “she is a bridal designer, hence ivory.” Her favourite fabric is tulle because of its flexibility. “It can make ruffles, flounces, ball dresses, and drapes and mix with various fabrics to transform its look.” She also works with luxurious fabrics and combines them with lace, beading, embroidery, and crystals to construct creative appliques on sleeves, bodices and necklines. Her first design to appear in a publication was a sheath maternity gown with crepe fabric for a maternity shoot. Winnie Harlow is Miracle’s favourite model because she has a unique and inspiring story. “Despite having vitiligo and all the bullying she received growing up, she still rose to become a top model.” The designer revealed she would like to dress celebrities such as Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Victoria Beck- ham, and Kate Middleton. Her goals are to attain greater heights and open branches in fashion capitals such as London, Paris, New York, and Milan. “I want to be a fashion innovator, be one of the important drivers of new and evolving trends, and be able to leave my footprints,” she said. She is inspired by Alexander McQueen and Vera Wang, renowned for her iconic wedding dresses. She believes aspiring designers should gain sufficient educa- tion and stay consistent. Beyond creating beautiful dresses or apparel, they must understand the fashion business. “Fashion has a low barrier entry, meaning there is competition. They must understand their environment and demographic to carve a portion of their presence.” She desires to be the best in her field and is a driving force to make her brand stand out in the sea of fashion, creating unbreakable bonds with her clients. It’s no secret TruFlair’s sincere commitment is bringing the best quality work for each client transferred through carefully selected quality fabrics, sewing techniques and sharp attention to the smallest detail. Miracle understands the responsibility she holds for creating wedding dresses for brides, and her clients know they can trust her to design their dream dresses for their memorable days. We wish TruFlair the best of luck, and we cannot wait to hear more about her future endeavours. www.truflairbridal.com Photography by Tony Wellington
