bitejewellery DAINTY LONDON Swapping her medical profession for jewellery creation, founder Jade Sammour reveals her passion and Dainty Lon- don jewellery collections to Cristina Lloyd. W hilst working as a Cardiac Nurse Specialist at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, Jade Sammour developed a passion for making jewel- lery and created her first piece, a necklace, to complete a new outfit, in 2011. “I couldn’t find a necklace anywhere to match a dress I was wearing for a wedding, so I made my own. I received so many compliments for said necklace that I started making more and sold them to my friends and family.” Her former role involved organisation and liaising with profes- sional teams to manage children undergoing heart operations and sometimes even heart and lung transplants. Degree level trained and having started a Masters in the subject, Jade feels she has been sufficiently trained and experienced in project, time and business management which has been an asset to her current business. Today, her jewellery brand, Dainty London, founded in 2018, has nearly 80 pieces in its range. Jade believes being unique and creating jewellery pieces that tell a story are one of the essentials of being a jewel- lery designer. The perks include creating jewellery that she loves and also having pieces that no one else has. “Whenever I create a new collection, I always wear it for three months before going live on our website.” This allows her to do market research into the products, see how comfortable the designs are and be unique in wearing one-of-a-kind jewellery pieces. In a dreary and dull world of doldrums and deadlines, Dainty London asks women where do they find their Utopia? Is it on the cloud-covered summit of Mount Olympus, towering above mortals, as gorgeous as a goddess? In the glittering glamour of Old Hollywood greasepaint and winged eyeliner, surrounded by ardent admirers? Or is Utopia in the universe, where you can soar beyond the earthly restraints of your imagination? With the Utopia collection, the brand encourages women to release their inner goddesses. This enduring collection is designed for women who yearn to adorn themselves with perfect pieces that encapsulate their wildest dreams. It allows them to drape themselves in the jewels they have been longing to wear. Like the Gold Artemis Ring, whose namesake is taken from the Goddess of Strength. This strong and beautiful everyday ring is made from 18-carat gold vermeil with detailed geometric forms to catch the light at different angles to create the illusion that the ring sparkles.
