My research is my holidays in remote places, with just a backpack and a tent to camp in the jungle. [The] last time I was able to travel, I went on a sur- vival-mode trip in the Amazon with a Shaman. It was a dream. That’s where I get my inspiration from. You wake up in the middle of the night and see the most incredible luminescence, little creatures glowing in the dark; or birds doing mesmerising mating dances. It’s the most sublime thing. Then a dress takes shape in your imagination as if by magic. I love the idea of the energy that comes from a hidden world in constant evolution, motion and mutation.” Therefore, this gorgeous evolution of growth in plant life is easily seen in his collections. This Spring-Summer compilation was a perfect example of this, as seen in some of the pieces' beautiful floral prints and actual leaf and petal shapes. For example, the first shot of fauna and flora was seen in look #3; however, by look #9, which was one of my favourites, one could see the almost oddly nucellar, pale neon-yellow slip dress is embroidered with large silver sequinned dots and yellow beaded fringe florets. The dress is simple, elegant, timeless in its design, and almost elementary, but what sets it apart is the colour and exceptionally crafted details. Look #10 showed an entirely different floral pattern: minia- ture roses and vines on creamy white silk chiffon. The high collar, long sleeves and floor-length skirt of this dress exuded an air of prim and proper ladylike effortlessness, but the tightly pleated undulating cascade of ruffles and trains flowing from the sleeves made it a one-of-a-kind showstopper. The same could be said for look #13, which looked like a perfectly plucked inverted white trumpet orchid and look #23 was a gown of tropical glory! Poppy red fabric underlined with white featuring dozens of peek-a-boo 3D floral cutouts and a flowing detached train. I swooned! I swayed; I gasped! However, the crowning piece of this collection was look #35. I was twitterpated at the movement of this gorgeous gown! This full length, slightly flared sheath dress with its beyond floor-length belled sleeves gracefully trailed alongside the model’s body as she walked in this inky navy blue and creamy white slightly abstracted floral print gown was a couture vision. While I appreciate the over-the-top, bespoke pieces of haute design, this particular dress holds something unde- niably wearable, making it even more special. The large silver appliqués are arranged in strategic clusters along the length of the dress to draw the eye and add lovely pops of shine, giving the wearer a very seductive and coquettish figure.
