biteperfume Suit of Lights The latest Jusbox perfume is Suit of Lights, a musky scent designed by Julien Rasquinet centred on the music genre of pop. It’s 1983 and the Motown 25th Anniversary television show is being hosted at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California. As stand- up comedian and actor Richard Pryor introduces the Jackson Five, video clips of their first audition in Detroit and subsequent performers are shown and the audience erupts into rounds of applause and ex- cited screams. After the King of Pop wearing a black sequinned jacket and white sequinned shirt, magic shoes and a white rhinestone-studded glove performs Jackson Five’s best tracks with his brothers, he is left alone on the stage. With a microphone in his hand, after a small speech, he quickly grabs the black hat rest- ing on the floor and starts his performance of Billie Jean, suavely introducing his moonwalk toward the end of the song that would perhaps become his most famous dance move. This moment consecrated the artist, the genius, and gave the art of music a piece of memorable history. “The absence of gravity in a dance step, the emotion is all in a rhythm suspended in time; The perfect synchrony of the movement of the body and rhythm of the soul, [where] the innocence of music blends with the emotional chaos of the almost adrena- lin-fuelled happiness of dancing.” Here, master per- fumer Julienne Rasquinet interprets the modernist of these sounds in a legendary extrait de perfume . The olfactory notes of mandarin oil and violet leaves meet the balsamic soul of honeysuckle. The woods of sandalwood and cedar in a combination of musks set the scene for the perfect choreography created by the heart notes of orange blossom and samba jas- mine absolute LMR (Laboratoire Monique Rémy), freesia and geranium. Suit of Lights is a tribute to innocence and harmony in perfect synchronicity and absolute purity.
