biteperfume T he exciting part of owning a Jusbox fra- grance is that it is always connected to or influenced by something extraordinary. It is not just a scent derived from fascinat- ing natural ingredients but it gives you something more such as a memory, an experience, an eventful or cherished moment or an idea to try something adventurous or spontaneous. Since Jusbox Perfumes is the artistic synthesis of music and perfume, many of their fragrances are influenced by artists, a sound movement or historical events. Thanks to its pure evocation of emotions, each fra- grance pays homage to music icons who have left a mark in the history of music and also music genres that have completely changed the canons of music and opened new, innovative roads. The fragrances are created in collaboration with some of the most renowned master perfumers in the world such as Ju- lien Rasquinet, Dominique Moellhausen, Dominiq- ue Ropion and Antoine Lie who touch the soul re- gardless of age, gender and belief. Each talented perfumer has produced extraordinary scents such as the oriental fruity Night Flow based on the rap genre, the cuir (leather) Black Powder which takes its musical influence from the grunge sound, the musky floral Siren & Sailors centred on blue-eyed soul, the oriental oud Golden Serenade that looks to the 1930s and 1940s jazz swing era and the woody oriental Green Bubble based on the mu- sical genre of reggae; all of these created by Julien Rasquinet. Dominique Moellhausen created the woody am- ber Cheeky Smile based on acid house music while Dominque Ropion showed his creative olfactory in the woody oriental Beat Café that takes musical influences from folk-rock, the chypre floral Feather Supreme influenced by the sweet sound of soul, the ozonic woody and rock music-inspired Micro Love, the ozonic green Feel ’n’ Chill with the musical in- fluence of the lounge genre and the oud oriental Live ’n’ Loud that would have you jiving to rock ’n’ roll vibes. Antoine Lie’s olfactory nose is found in the oriental 14 Hour Dream inspired by psychedelic rock, the floral musky Use Abuse with the musical influence of glam rock and the aromatic woody No Rules in- spired by punk music. All of these fragrances have a playlist so you can experience the associated music while enjoying your chosen scent. For example, if you have Siren & Sailors, listen to the soulful tunes of Amy Winehouse who dominates the playlist, with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Blondie and The Clash. Black Powder allows you to familiarise yourself with the sounds of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains while Feather Supreme delights your ears with the soulful voice of Aretha Franklin. The 14 Hour Dream brings back memories of Pink Floyd, Soft Machine, Arthur Brown and The Purple Gang and Cheeky Smile may remind you of those underground warehouse parties dancing to the mu- sic of Phuture, Armando, Atom TM, Ryan Mullin, Gene Hunt, Bam Bam and Kraftwerk. Cristina Lloyd relives the magical moment of the King of Pop’s performance at the Motown 25th Anniversary through Jusbox’s latest fragrance, Suit of Lights. Jusbox Perfumes
