bitefashion T aking place on 9 October 2021, the Preby London Bridal Collection Fashion Show was held exclusively at the Nave, commonly known as St Ethelbur- ga’s Bishopsgate in London, which recently opened for events and unique experiences. Originally built in the 14th century, the main Nave has an amazing sense of calm and provides the perfect setting for exclusive events such as private dinners, meetings, receptions, and of course fashion shows. As you walked into the venue you were warmly greeted with complimentary drinks and refreshments. The space was buzzing with attendees anticipating the activities of the evening and what the fashion show had to offer. There was an amazing atmosphere of serene calm that immediately told me that I was going to enjoy the evening. I was also excited to see the wonderful presentation that I’m sure Preby London would deliver. The fashion show was presented, organ- ised and well executed by Sylvia Fumudoh, founder of London-based womenswear brand Preby London. Sylvia has been a designer for the past 10 years, having studied fashion, textiles and photography at Middlesex University from 2006 to 2009. She recently branched into bridal wear, after delivering womenswear collections since her brand’s inception. She is also a fashion stylist for events and shoots. Sylvia’s collections were presented in two parts: the first collection of wedding recep- tion dresses were inspired by life under the sea and the ‘Illusion of Mermaids’ featuring fabrics that mimicked seaweed, pleats that flowed like a fishes’ tail and sequins rep- resenting fish scales. Most of the dresses were mermaid styled with smooth satins and beadwork. In this collection, there were seven colours, representing the sea world theme; for example, aqua blue and deep green was the colour of the sea and fish scales, and the pinks and purples were the colourful corals.
