bitefashion ‘90s. Unlike her sister, Gianella remained in Ecuador and studied to become an Industrial Engineer at the Unversidad San Francisco de Quito where she developed a professional profile and wanderlust for travel. “The only way I find to cultivate my love for the world is [by] seeing it with my own eyes and being good to it.” She worked as a junior project manager exploring different digital tools for various service projects for approximately five years before moving to Califor- nia, USA, to pursue her dream of becoming a digital creative. Gianella studied Applications Programming in her new hometown, a computer science certifi- cation she obtained at UCLA in 2018. This qualification allowed her to expand into areas of work such as digital marketing, e-commerce management and graphic design. After freelancing as a creative doing digital and print work for small business- es, Gianella moved to Florida in 2019 to study for a Masters in International Business with the sole purpose to commercialise products internationally and responsibly with Lizbeth. That same year, the two sisters developed the brand, which is regarded as a reflection of their characters and provides an answer to the need to have a responsible and creative business that shows their love for the world and all its wonderfulness. Although Gianella resides in the US and Lizbeth in Spain, they work together every day to offer the best quality garments for everyone to wear. Their prod- ucts are shipped worldwide, and they have a physical presence in the fashion retail space Flying Solo in SoHo, NYC. Gianella also provides small business owners with creative solutions in marketing, branding and e-commerce man- agement for retail. “Clothing made with special attention to detail. Made with love and made for everyone to last forever!” Glim Studios’ selection of clothing includes denim jackets, jeans, t-shirts, shirts, and accessories. The bestselling pieces are the oversized unisex Won- derwall Canva Denim Jacket in Light Blue, also available in Dark Blue with a removable hood, and Los Angeles Print Pack T-shirts in Black or White as well as the Colbie Cropped Straight Fit Jeans in Black and Linda Colour Block Shirt in Warm Beige and Powder Pink or White for women. These simple but impactful pieces are ideal for everyday wear. The Wonderwall Canva Denim Jacket in Light Blue and Dark Blue are craft- ed with a non-stretchy fabric, mid-weight and a light blue or dark blue wash. The former is detailed with a one-side flapped pocket and collection name-em- bossed button, while the latter is finished with a patchwork technique and removable hood. The Colbie Jeans are made from non-stretch, rigid denim shaped to sit high on the waist, cropped and straight leg with a light distressing and contrasting colour blocking at the bottom part. Also oversized are the Linda Colour Block Shirt in Warm Beige and Powder Pink or White, made from organic cotton poplin in a boxy shape and finished with a covered button-down placket on the front as a closure to give a classic and contemporary appeal. The limited-edition Los Angeles Print Pack T-shirt in Black or White features old black and white photography on a white soft organic cotton fleece knit printed patch based on Beachwood Drive in Los An- geles, California. The two sisters take inspiration from their upbringing in the ‘90s and their di- verse personalities to produce a collection called ‘Gilli’ taken from their names - Gil (Gianella) and Li (Lizbeth). The inspiration behind this collection is the contemporary aesthetic that emerged by looking into the past where humorous contrast can be drawn between the “beginning of that era’s tech boom and our hyped connected lives. It explores our memories and distorted realities.” The patches are a vivid palette with rebellious statements like ‘I was taken in the ‘90s’ with a spaceship image and ‘In the ‘90s models were random peo- ple’ that lets the viewers interpret both the text and graphics for themselves.
