S outh London rapper Ms Banks’ latest single and music video ‘Pull Up’ via Platoon features fellow rapper K Trap. The Cadenza produced track comes after the artist was placed on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list and emphasises she can let her talent speak for itself whilst further cementing herself as one of the UK’s leading rappers with the unapologetic and hard-hitting track. The accompanying action-packed video directed byWowa demon- strates women can be tough, and any doubters shouldn’t let the pretty exterior fool them. Speaking about the track, Ms Banks stated, “Anytime I touch [the] stage, I shut down! Imma ‘Pull Up’ and go off! Period!” Throughout the video, you get a sense of these beauties engaging in a job while two moderators are trying to catch them in the act, but at the end, Ms Banks leaves us with an unex- pected twist.Watch the video to the end to find out what it is. The last few years have seen the 27-year-old’s career reach dizzying heights, including a place on the BBC Radio 1 BigWeekend 2020, XXL freshman cover 2020 shortlist and BBC Radio 1 Xtra Live 2019. In addition, she performed at the 2019 Brit Awards with Little Mix, then Fire in the Booth, received a BET Hip Hop Awards nomination, and a rapidly expanding global awareness with critically acclaimed EP The ColdestWinter Ever parts 1 and 2.
