bitedesserts We chose to experience the Creams magic in Dalston, east London. It was a scorching day in September, so it was the perfect setting to enjoy Creams’ delicious ice cream creations.We were welcomed by the wonderful Umar who seated us with a good view of the entrance and other diners. In this café, the decor is differ- ent, with cushioned padded booths in blue and brown wrapped around medium wooden tables. The walls have a dark brown effect with words like ‘Gelato’ and ‘Waffles’ written at the top. We started our ice cream adventure with Waffle Royale, a dessert of Creams Rocher gelato on a freshly cooked waffle with white and milk chocolate sauces, white and milk chocolate shavings, Ferrero Rocher and a Creams wafer.The second waffle was Banana-scoff, baked with milk chocolate cookie dough inside, topped with fresh slices of banana with banoffee gelato, lotus spread, crumbled Lotus Biscoff and topped with a Creams wafer. Both were delicious and enriched with banana and chocolate indulgence. Other delicious waffle creations may pique your interest such as Chocolate Fudge Mess, a jumbly crumble of hot chocolate fudge cake, toffee fudge pieces, toffee sauce, and icing sugar, or the new Fashion Hot Berry, vanilla gelato with hot berry compote, strawberry sauce, icing sugar, and topped with a Creams wafer. Get your eyes peeled with Surprise ME, another new dessert with red velvet cookie dough inside, topped with fresh sliced strawberry, mini marshmallows, strawberry sauce, Creams Buenot gelato, shavings of white chocolate, icing sugar, and a Creams wafer. The crepes may look light on the plate, but when you experience them, you may find they can fill you up pretty quickly. Chocolate & Strawberry Indulgence, with freshly sliced strawberries drizzled with milk chocolate sauce and milk chocolate shavings, was gorgeous; I loved the taste of the strawberries. Crepe of Bueno was even more enjoyable with white hazelnut spread, milk or white Kinder Bueno, white chocolate shavings, a scoop of Creams Buenot gelato and a Creams wafer. You can go one bigger with the new four-storey stacked American Chocolate Pancake, fluffy chocolate pancakes with white chocolate sauce, pieces of Snickers, roasted peanuts, and sliced strawberries or the four-storey stacked American Maple Pancake, fluffy pancakes drizzled with maple syrup and fresh strawberries. If you’re not fussed about toppings, you can go for the classic Pancake Day crepe, a butter and icing sugar pancake with or without lemon juice. As Creams says, “Every day is pancake day.” There is nothing like hot or warm cookie dough with melted ice cream to fill your dessert fantasies.We indulged in the Sticky Banoffee which is made up of white chocolate cookie dough topped with banoffee gelato, fresh banana slices, toffee sauce, fudge cubes, and finished with a wafer.This enriched combination of toffee and banana hit the spot, and the sweet taste of the toffee sauce and fudge cubes satisfied our taste buds. Other cookie dough goodies on the menu include Chocolate Hazelnut Truffle, a triple chocolate cookie dough topped with Creams Rocher gelato, drizzled with milk chocolate sauce, sprinkled with milk chocolate shavings and finished with a Ferrero Rocher and a Creams wafer. Try the new gluten-free Salted Caramel Meringue with peanut butter cookie dough, caramel sauce, and salted caramel gelato topped with meringue.Also new on the menu is Blood Orange with white chocolate cookie dough, with blood orange sorbet, strawberry sauce, white choc- olate shavings, strawberries, and a Creams wafer. Sometimes, you have to go beyond the realms of regular flavoured milkshakes, so why not try Creams’ other options? The Power Shakes include The Bulker with semi-skimmed milk, chocolate whey protein, banana, peanut butter, and Creams soft vanilla ice cream;The Marathon with semi-skimmed milk, Snickers, chocolate whey protein powder, Creams soft vanilla ice cream, and crushed waffle cone; and Pro - O-RE-O with semi-skimmed milk, O-RE-O Gelato, chocolate whey protein powder, and crushed Oreo cookies.
