bitefilm tion, redemption, and healing the wounds of the past. She believes that the most critical stories in cinema, theatre, or literature, are the stories of suffering and pain. Through those stories “we can rise beyond and find our true voice and true self,” says Patricia. The director herself had to find who she was in a mixture of different cultures, from be- ing Latin American to French Canadian and what it meant for her to be a global artist working in Los Angeles. As an ambitious woman, she has undergone the journey of self-dis- coveries and realisations, which allowed her to find her own identity and voice. One of these self-discovery journeys happened when the filmmaker had to sell her beautiful, beloved home in Mon- treal. At that time, Patricia was focusing on short movies af- ter she left the TV industry and wanted to transition from television to cinema, from documentary lifestyle to fiction, and from short-form to long-form. It was a triple transition for her and doing that coincided with the economic crash in 2008 when the whole world got shaken up. “So there was a moment of the lowest vibration of despera- tion. I have no money, and I am making all these shorts that are winning awards everywhere, and they are brilliant. I built so many actors through their breakthroughs, but I am broke. And I had no choice. I was sad, and a bit low vibrational and I had to sell the home.” She says the biggest lesson learned from that experience is that you match your vibration and you attract what it matches. “I was vibrating low, so I just had to surrender to the process and recode myself from the ground up. I had to forget and leave behind everything I was and that I had been since my birth and reinvent myself to one step at the time.” After selling the house, Patricia moved to Los Angeles and had two suitcases filled with what she called “dreams and no work visa.” She believed so much in her rebirth and who she was that failure did not scare her. The filmmaker had to learn to stop blaming people and to take responsibility and control of her own life. She realised that it was up to her to succeed in her dreams and her goals. She started visualisation and meditation practices and be- came a student of life and energy. There is a saying that when the student is ready, the teacher appears, and this is precisely what happened in Patricia’s life. Her path crossed with many mentors, coaches, and teachers who helped shape her un- derstanding of her tools and powers that she owned and had not yet fully discovered. Patricia confessed these experiences shifted her and allowed her to become a new person with “a new energetic identity.” The director revealed she wants the audience to reflect, have emotions, and have a little shift inside. “It could be to improve their own lives or make that transition to change the world and improve our society and become a part of the whole. The intention has to be so exquisite, so strong that there’s no room for failure. It doesn’t matter if people like the film; if it’s their cup of tea or it isn’t. There’s a true meaning of connection that happens, and it cannot leave them unaffected.” She added, “When I use this with the greatest intentions and purposes to serve other people than myself and reach out to the audiences, it’s magical. You are at your screening, and you see people around you just being emotional: crying or laugh- ing or feeling the sense of self-realisation. And it’s a beautiful, beautiful thing and I want to teach it to more people in my industry. I want to change the mindset of how to be an artist and be of service to society. We have a responsibility and also a duty to use our power of storytelling to change the world. And that’s my mission! Not everybody has to be that way, but that’s how I am.” Patricia explained through meditation; you can learn how to follow your inner guide, intuition, and align your heart. “It is vital to get in alignment with the heart, as our mind is not there to serve or guide us through but to protect, there- fore it is always finding obstacles, the counter thought.” But, “If you follow your intuition that comes from the third eye, you align yourself with everything you want to do, your in- tentions and your voice, authenticity and passion. You put a plan into action and strategy and surrender to the process; it happens very, very fast.” Patricia learned from the moment
