The next day, the premiere director researched this newly discovered subject and realised she had been exceptionally gifted; she was a healer alongside her other talents. This discovery changed Patricia’s life in such a way she is creat- ing a storm in the filmmaking industry. Her debut feature mov- ie Montreal Girls co-written with her dear friend Kamal John Iskander is going to be the first of its kind. The cast trained with Patricia for a year on how to use chi energy principles and the laws of nature to bridge the gap between storytelling and per- formance. She has also taught the crew techniques on how to re- shuffle their energies and be aware of their powers so that when they go on set, they will be ready and aligned together. When asked what she means by “energy as a method” she ex- plained she uses chi energy from the very moment inspiration for the script comes, to the very last minute of the screening. Patricia discovered “when you align yourself and your energy centres incongruently and finds alignment with the highest pur- pose and the highest intention; to be of service to something beyond you, something greater than you serves two or more people apart from yourself. This is where the true connection of chi energy happens.” She added that it is vital that actors and the key creator crew “understand and know how to use the energy, vibration, fre- quencies, the colours, and the properties of every energy centre to transcend the storytelling and help them elevate their skills.” She further explained there’s education for the mindset process. For instance, the composer uses frequencies of different ener- gies to score the film. Patricia uses chi energy to refine her ed- its, to find the right beat, the right frequency, vibration, colour correction, selection of shades and tones, colours and tints of each scene. Everything has a purpose and meaning, including publicity, post-production, and distribution. Filming for Montreal Girls started this summer in Montreal and is expected to be shown on the big screens in March 2021. It stars Hakim Brahimi, Jasmina Arroyave Parent, and Sana Asad. The real events in Patricia’s life inspired the movie. One of the characters, Desiree (played by Jasmina Arroyave Parent) who is an artist just like her, is very open and compassionate, which plays a significant role in the movie. However, the story focuses on an international student from the Middle East, Ramy (played by Hakim Brahimi). He comes to Montreal to study medicine because his father wants him to be- come a doctor. Here, he meets his wild cousin, who introduces him to the city’s vibrant underground subcultures and thrilling nightlife. He also meets two girls who change his perception of life and lead him to his destiny to become a poet. According to Patricia, storytelling is a healing process from within. “Every artist who has a burning desire to bring their sto- ry out has suffered in some way or another.” Furthermore, the moviemaker added that it is about sharing a human experience with the world and finding a sense of peace, belonging, resolu- PATRICIA CHICA
