bitecatwalk A adnevik’s AW20 collection was held at the Royal Horseguards Hotel in Em- bankment, London. Established de- signers, Hila and Kristian Aadnevik, set the stage with a different ambience from what we have seen in past catwalk shows; the back- ground was a decor of black-draped material and the venue’s wooden floors. When the show lights came up, the models strut- ted down the catwalk in luxury designs in hues of sultry black and silver that ended with a sky blue dress. This season’s collection was glamorous with bare shoulders, bodices, and the odd leather jack- et. Mid-thigh mini dresses were a vital feature in this collection as it showed the form of women with long legs. They were effortless and caressed the body along with flowing skirts and figure-hug- ging bodices. Floor-length evening dresses and gowns delivered with divine elegance in sheer fabrics, making them essential attire for women to have in their ward- robes. The designers’ ideology showed the models’ femininity while feline frills took over a singular leg with extremely high-leg slits that allowed for extravagance this Autumn/Winter. Aadnevik has developed a unique handcraft- ed technique where the design patterns are built onto the body, working with natural effeminate shapes, contrasting sharp cuts, and soft layering and drapes.
