bitecatwalk S oon after graduating from Central Saint Martins Col- lege in 2000, Olivia Rubin launched her first wom- enswear line. Her graduate collection was chosen for the prestigious press show and won immediate atten- tion from the press who cited her printed designs as one of the ‘standout collections’. Her placements were with top designers Jacques Azagury, Tristan Webber, and Jade Jagger. She even worked with the renowned Alexander McQueen, Dior, and John Galliano in Paris, where she assisted with Galliano’s mainline collec- tions. Her responsibility was designing prints that were cho- sen for his womenswear collections. After taking time out, Rubin developed her own brand, bringing her unique take on modern femininity and fo- cusing on bestselling dresses, skirts, and brightly coloured prints. Rubin’s popular multicoloured sequins have already built a strong industry presence in such a short space of time; being featured regularly in leading British fashion titles. The collection had a lot of block colours, and in line with her signature style, the range of sequinned checks were acces- sorised with lovely rainbow petals. Tie-dye ombré, animal print hearts, pastels, black polka dots and pearls, and rain- bow chevrons were the primary looks. The coat in pink and purple was our favourite item from her collection. www.oliviarubinlondon.com OLIVIA RUBIN
