bite catwalk L ondon Fashion Week saw a fantasy of pearl pinks, creams, dewy blues and earthy greens from Roberta Einer’s luxury womenswear collection for SS20. The designer’s womanli- ness owned the catwalk and set us up for a hot summer with its effortless colour palette and silhouettes. Einer incorporated layers of extraordinary textiles in the form of long jackets that linked in with the intricate detailing of pale blue bralette tops. The puffer jacket was a beautiful composition of patchwork and handmade embroidery that will protect us on walks along the beach during dusk. The sea spray of blues and greens lifted her silky midi skirts and slip dresses that hug and relax the feminine figure. Oversized, boxy suit trousers led a powerful look paired with a corset-inspired top that will feed luxury into one of this season’s trends of styling business wear with lingerie, finishing the look off with a dust of embellishment for an additional flair of glam to her suit trousers. Bringing her signature textile talent into Spring/Summer 2020, she introduces the 1970s suit silhouettes and vintage dress styles with a sage green silk gown from the 1940s. The infatuation lies with Einer’s SS20 collection and left one dreaming about owning any of her lux- ury staples such as her patchwork designs or a daring, orange print unitard. www.robertaeiner.com T his Spring/Summer 2020, we celebrate a myriad of colour and culture come together for the luxe street-style of Mark Fast’s collection this season at London Fashion Week. Drawing inspiration from the rich grounds of the Amazon Forest, Fast crafted a stunning collection that provided homage to the flocks and herds of tropical wildlife that are currently undergoing devastating trauma. Light blue ruffled featured on the sleeves of off-the-shoulder knitted tops and floor-length skirts represented the feathers of Macaw parrots. This feather pep- lum reappeared on the hem of skirts in papaya orange and peach pink sheer ingeniously scaly textile that revealed the natural figure of the model beneath. Figure-hugging knitted crop tops, mini skirts and mini dresses strut towards the jungle raved in thigh-high leather boots in colourful snakeskin. This attire of tropical luxury tangoed with Fast’s ready-to-wear looks that con- sisted of printed tees, stripy sweatshirts with the designer’s signature brand elec- tric across the top. Layered over fishnets and cycle shorts, Fast designed looks that evoked the ‘90s with mini denim shorts and bandeaus.
