The Bite Magazine - Spring/Summer 2020 - Issue 27
bite catwalk HAZZYS CHARLOTTE KNOWLES M odels emerged from the depths in the futuristic SS20 collection from Charlotte Knowles titled ‘Ven- om’. A colour palette of deep-sea greens and blacks mélange well with the recurring orange and black bleach printed fabric. This tied together stupendously with the punk usage of pops of neon green. One became rapidly intoxicated by the creatures in cycling shorts, mini dresses, and mini skirts. Less is definitely more for this col- lection, as the brand invites women to take back and express their bodies. The designers Charlotte and Alexandre have incorporated layering of bikinis over nude and black mesh tops with straps that drape down the shoulders towards mesh gloves; thus creating the effect of seaweed hanging from the models’ limbs. The perfect club attire for the ravers out there looking for some attitude in their wardrobe and the more daring was a mesh sequin dress that re- vealed the model’s nipples in an electric, fearless manner. Neon green gloves, midi skirts and elongating flares that opened at the calves, continued the strong female voice throughout this SS20 collection. We celebrated this collection of sheer undergar- ments for outerwear in a time where women are beginning to al- low self-expression that needs a brand like Charlotte Knowles to dress them. https://charlotteknowles.com I n keeping with true Hazzys by JD style, the brand delivered their SS20 collection that is inspired by British street style. The designer had the solution for effortless looks that will keep us cool this Spring/ Summer with oversized shorts, suits, and long, flowing trench coats. All in a colour palette of neutral beiges, light pinks, blues, and deep reds. The use of reds and navy worked to create a nautical asymmetrical dress and polo necks. Hazzys opted for traditional masculine tailoring for men and women al- lowing them to take smart, business attire to the streets. Not forgetting expertly constructed utility vests that were popular in AW19 and will be über popular in the summer. The brand has incorporated more highly stylish workwear into their collection with boiler suit designed in blue with an asymmetric deeper shade of blue that dives diagonally through the front of the trousers. Contrasting the neutrals within the collection was a luscious yellow raincoat and plaid, a key recurring theme throughout the collections. A geometric print funnelled through the collection in cotton shirts and neckties, adding a further dimension to the looks. Hazzys by JD will have you sorted this summer if you’re walking down the boardwalk or past the Strand and its floods of photographers. https://hazzys.jd.com CHARLOTTE KNOWLES
