Breaking away from the conformity of today’s fashion, where self-expression isn’t always the go-to, Jayne Pierson pushed forward with fruity furs and hand-drawings into the leather with scribbles that were meant to be the thoughts, feelings, emotions, and dreams of the woman who longs to let go and be herself. Appearing throughout the collection, the scribbled designs were charming and chaotic, full of emotion, drawing in the eyes. From the large text that looked half washed away, to bleeding on faces and repeated prints. Colour was important and well thought through hues of red, pink, yellow, white, black and orange. The collection was comprised of shaggy shearling coats, voluminous sleeves, flattering dress silhou- ettes, trendy jumpsuits, and smart trousers. It presented a look for every kind of contemporary woman. A balance of forms and structures, the brand went for a trendy mixture of fabrications and sports luxe inspirations that bled into the pieces thanks to their collaboration with sports brand Sketches. Juxtaposing sports fabrics with more avant-garde details, clashing themes, and sophistication, it worked for this young contemporary brand who is definitely drawing in attention from fans. Playful accessories finished off each look with furry berets and embellished headbands, making a play between humour and femininity. Chic silhouettes were ex- aggerated slightly in a youthful way with puffy sleeves and oversized collars nostalgic of childhood, enhanced through a bright and playful colour palette of pink, blue, orange and yellow. A two-tone theme of colours was explored through a series of block-colour- ed pink and orange outfits, pinafore style dresses over mutton sleeve style blouses, that were chic and preppy. Like an aristocratic teenager, Kalissi is known for their extrovert style that sets itself apart and unafraid to explore the fun side of fashion by making clothes that make you smile. A few softer looks broke the flow of the collection, with pastel blues and pinks adding a chic element within a rainbow-bright of the collection, silky robes, and stylish oversized pyjama style suits adding elegance and an air of maturity. The essence of the collection culminated in a vibrant botanical print, full of life and vibrancy, shown on silky two-piece suits, robes and wide-leg trousers, presenting a play into the mix of wild and free fashion that Kalissi is best known for. https://kalissi.com
