bite cuisine gold plated tables nestled on a carpet of artificial grass out- side, shaded by a brown shop front awning with a vertical strip of green. On either side of the restaurant are two plant arrangements that guard the premises like two soldiers, and by the door, an array of plants covering the wall makes a nice decorated welcome to those coming to dine there. Upon entering Indian Accent, you’ll be greeted by front of house in the warm and atmospheric lobby, which also gives you a glimpse into the main restaurant area through opu- lently decorated glass doors. To your right is a spiral staircase that leads to the lower ground decorated with gold ceramic panels that provide an enrichment of the Indian couture, and a traditional liquor display cabinet on the wall showcases a vast collection of the world’s finest whiskeys. We were welcomed by the lovely Alice who made us feel im- mediately at home as she escorted us into the main restaurant and showed us to our table. With soft jazz playing overhead, low lights and two semi-mirrored panels surrounded by a white ceiling with spotlights, Indian Accent is the ideal place for couples to enjoy an intimate dinner, friends to indulge in the smooth and relaxing ambience, or acquaintances to ex- perience the unique, flavoursome and amazing cuisine that the restaurant is renowned for. The decor designed by Design LSM fuses clean lines and contemporary elements with gold and emerald. The bar is located at the front on your right, decorated in a white mar- ble effect on the counter, and a gold frame surrounding the circumference, with glasses hanging upside and bottles of al- cohol on the shelves. Neat and compact inside, the left-hand side of the restaurant consists of sumptuous green velvet banquettes fitted together in a row and green covered chairs between square wooden tables. On the right-hand side, you have several booths adorned in the same colour and fabric with white marble effect tables. It was at one of these we were seated. As I looked around, I noticed that the wall opposite us was pearlescent with verti- cal strips of golden panels, while on our side, it was mirrored which gave the place an interesting effect. Our table was dec- orated with a rectangular vase with maroon and orange flow- ers and a lamp perched out of the wall with a hooped handle. While we waited for our cocktails, we were served blue stilton naan bread, and pumpkin and coconut soup, complimentary of the chef. João, our amazing server for the evening, advised us to take a bite of the naan bread first, and then a sip of the soup. As soon as I tasted the soup, the enriched flavours of the pumpkin and coconut interacted with my tastebuds and took me on a journey. The naan bread was amazing as well. I knew from that moment we were going to enjoy our experi- ence at Indian Accent. Green Chili Sour with hari mirch (green peppers) infused tequila, lemon oleo saccharin, and mezcal was slightly strong with the taste of chillies. While The Proper Copper with kaf- fir lime leaf infused vodka, and honeyrose blossom water served in a copper cup was fruity and light. You could hardly taste the alcohol and it was one that I enjoyed the most. But my absolute favourite was the third cocktail: Transcendental Medication served with honey-infused gin, mountain sage liqueur, thyme, and lavender.
