C ementing their place among the top restaurants in the world with a unique creative cuisine, Indian Accent first opened at New Delhi’s Manor Hotel in 2009, followed by New York in 2015. Two years later, famed Indian chef Manish Mehrotra decid- ed to bring his critically acclaimed Asian gastro- nomic to London, settling in the heart of Mayfair. Taking the unique marriage of global ingredients and techniques with the flavours and traditions of his homeland, you’ll find that Indian Accent is unlike any other. What makes Mehrotra one of the most celebrated chefs in the world is his reinterpretation of nostal- gic Indian dishes with an openness towards global techniques and influences. Renowned as the most exciting modern Indian chef in the world today, Mehrotra started his career in Mumbai as part of Ananda Solomon’s team at the Thai Pavilion of the Taj Hotels and went on to join Old World Hospitality in 2000. Impressing the guests at Ori- ental Octopus with his culinary skills and charm, he has since spent around 18 years with OWH, opening several restaurants while travelling the world. The chef doesn’t just want to continue creating tantalising dishes, thanks to his passion for the craft, knowledge of ingredients and their origins, but he also thrives to inspire young chefs in their journeys of learning the craft. When he’s not working, Mehrotra enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter in New Delhi, watching mov- ies, cricket matches and cooking for his daughter, Adah, who is a foodie.
