NOBLE ISLE
W
e all know us Brits love our baths and, if you
are a bath-aholic, Noble Isle is your go to brand.
Drawing inspiration from all corners of the
British Isles each product aims to capture a mood, from the
crackling fire of a country pub to a walk through a meadow
on a summer’s day. This brand is very much about fragrance
and employed a ‘top industry nose’ to help blend their
signature fragrances.
Wanting to bring back memories of summer, I tried
Willow Song (LavenhamWalk) Bath & Shower Gel. Marrying
the anti-bacterial qualities of willow bark with soothing
water lily, this product is fresh and calming. As mentioned
in the product name, Lavenham Walk is the Suffolk village
where all the ingredients are sourced. Every product in the
range contains details of the ingredients provenance, which
adds a wonderfully personal touch. The product packaging
is modelled on vintage alcohol bottles, and is a great way of
bringing a touch of the manor house into your bathroom.
NEAL’SYARD REMEDIES
N
eal’s Yard is a relatively senior citizen in the
world of natural beauty. Established in 1981,
when awareness of natural remedies had only
just begun, they have been pioneers of holistic
health and beauty for over 30 years now. The
little blue apothecary bottles, which have now
become the brand’s signature, are not just for
show, the colour keeps the light out which
keeps the product inside fresher! A strong
commitment to using natural ingredients
has always set them apart, with all products
developed at their lab in Gillingham,
Dorset. Products can boast being carbon
neutral, not tested on animals, as well as
being free of a long list of synthetic nasties
like parabens.
The Bee Lovely range takes this a step
further by trying to raise awareness (and
money) to stop the decline of bees in
the UK. The range comprises of bath
and shower gel, hand cream and hand
wash, with 5% of the product sales going
to a bee-related charity. With them all
containing organic honey, they smell good
enough to eat!
THISWORKS
T
his brand likes to keep things simple. Created by international beauty
journalist Kathy Phillips, the range of products always deliver what
they promised. The Italian food of the beauty industry, the focus is on
sourcing high quality ingredients and not doing too much to them.
Staying true to its UK routes, all products are made here and the brand
also works directly with English farmers.
The USP is the range of anti-ageing,‘no wrinkles’ remedies that can
be hard to find within the natural products industry. The star product
has to be the No Wrinkles Active Oil, a light oil formula containing
jasmine and rosehip as well as British-grown crambe oil.Whilst the
idea of oil can be off putting, this delivers moisture and richness but
also absorbs into the skin very quickly.
GREENAND
SPRING
A
s the name may suggest,
this brand is all about
the embodiment of the
English countryside. With a
strong focus on English native
plants, Green and Spring
sources
ingredients
such
as lavender, chamomile and
elderflower from all over the
UK. There is a strong focus
on creating natural products;
ingredients are hand blended to
ensure the natural therapeutic
qualities are not lost by over
treatment.This certainly comes
through in the products, which
are like a breath of country air.
Revitalising Exfoliating Body
Wash contains peppermint,
dandelion, fennel and aniseed.
This provides an amazing
freshness that makes the
product perfect for an early
morning. The tiny pieces
of walnut shell also give a
gentle exfoliation leaving you
silky smooth afterwards. For
a more chilled moment, the
perfect partner product is the
Relaxing Light Bath Oil infused
with chamomile, lavender and
rosemary that all help to ease
the tension away. The high
essential oil content also makes
you feel really moisturised after
getting out of the bath. One
other thing that deserves a
mention with these products
is the beautiful packaging.
Adorned with hand drawn
English birds, it does a great
job of decorating the bathroom
shelf.
