On oily skin it controls excess oil, and on

dry skin it replenishes moisture. I know it

can be a dilemma going for oil instead of a

traditional cream moisturiser but I found

this really absorbs easily, and it didn’t feel

like it sat on the surface of your skin like a

rich cream moisturiser can.

Thursday

After giving my body some attention, it’s

now my face’s turn! With Thursday night

drinks planned, I use some

Rose Face

Balm

as

part of my morning routine.

The consistency in this product which is

part-cream and part-gel is lovely and light.

One of the key ingredients in this product

is Argan oil. It’s a powerful antioxidant,

and can help reduce fine lines, and help

regulate pigmentation. The great thing

about this product is that it can do the job

of a moisturiser, a serum and even a pre-

make-up primer. I used it under make-up

and my foundation went on much more

evenly afterwards. Although I was worried

about not having my daily dose of retinol

and Vitamin A, I couldn’t notice any

difference in the radiance and

smoothness of my skin when using

this balm. The natural perfume in all

these products means that if you

use it in a combination, you can

go without normal perfume as you

smell naturally wonderful!

Friday

After a bit of a late night,

I start my morning

off with the

Rose

Antioxidant

Face

Serum

.

This contains

(some much needed)

wonder ingredient GLA

or Gamma Linoleic

Acid. Also known

as an Omega 6 fatty

acid, this is perfect

for fighting a huge

range of conditions,

from eczema to

depression

and

even arthritis. This

is a great product

to try for those

who are skeptical

about the anti-

ageing properties

of chemical-free

skin products. I

continued to use

this product over

the course of a

few days to really

put it through its

paces, and I was

really impressed.

The texture of

my skin felt really

When the skin is damaged by abrasion

or chemical irritation, penetration of

chemicals is further increased. By using

organic skincare products, you can help

to decrease the toxic load on your body

and on the environment.” Alison’s expert

knowledge of aromatherapy oils is the

foundation of the brand, with all of her 26

products containing one of her carefully

selected oils.The oils, including rose,Argan

and Patchouli were chosen not only for

their amazing healing properties, but also

for their smell which act as a wonderful

natural perfume. So with an Ali Mac

product a day, here is my week’s skincare

diary.

Monday

Eurgh! Monday morning. The moment

when you first catch your reflection in the

mirror…not good! I need a bit of a pick

me up, so I go for

Rose and Camellia

Hydrating Face Mist

.

This contains

rose essential oil, one of the first essential

oils in history to be distilled, and a skincare

favourite for its treatment of dry sensitive

and ageing skin. The other key ingredient

is organic camellia, which strengthens, and

promotes healthy cell growth. So with the

science bit out of the way, I give myself

a generous spritz. The rose provides a

lovely natural perfume, and this product

really is light as air. It absorbs instantly,

and gives me the moisture hit I need to

start looking vaguely human! The product

goes into my handbag for the rest of the

day, and also provides a nice pick me up

before going out for dinner in the evening.

In the spirit of being natural, it’s a healthy

salad for me!

Tuesday

With Monday out of the way, today is

unfortunately a gym day. After a painful

workout, my product of choice is

Lemongrass and Ginger Invigorating

Body Wash

.

Unlike most body wash or

shower gels, there’s no soap in this product.

This means there’s less chance of irritation

when your skin is already hot and sweaty.

The lemongrass and ginger provides the

pick me up you need when you’re starting

to get post-workout slump, and aloe vera

is an amazing natural moisturiser.

Wednesday

Middle of the week day! Busy days and

endless meetings are starting to get to me

now, and the weekend is still three days

away! I finish off a long hard day with a nice

bath, followed by

Ylang Ylang Patchouli

and Bergamot Body Oil

.

Who needs

chemicals when you have jojoba oil? One

of nature’s best moisturisers, it is nearly

identical in structure to the skin’s sebum,

meaning it can be used on any skin type.

smooth, and I definitely noticed improved

radiance.

Saturday

With the week finally over, I wanted a

clean start to the weekend, so I tried

Rose and Camellia Face Polish

.

I am

a little wary about exfoliators as I have

very sensitive skin. However, this one is

great as it contains natural sugar which is

not too sharp and then Shea butter which

moisturises. The Camellia Oil is also a key

ingredient in this product. As one of the

lightest and most absorbent plant oils,

it penetrates the skin almost as fast as

water. So rather than my skin feeling tight

afterwards, it felt like I’d sloughed away

all the dead skin but not stripped all the

moisture away.

Sunday

Feeling thoroughly renewed and revived

after my week of product testing, you

would think it would be all

pampered out... But I

decided to celebrate

Sunday with a full day of

relaxation, and use all of

the Ali Mac products I’d

tried during the week.

Heaven!
