After years of working in traditional engi- neering and various artistic projects, the duo combined their knowledge and creativity to develop the design company The Contrast Club. Suvi’s artistic and nature-inspired designs resonated with James’ techni- cal design and engineering innovation. They collabo- rate with Finnish goldsmiths, and the jewellery is metic- ulously crafted in Finland using high-end materials. Suvi is the CEO. She is involved in precision engi- neering and design, distinctly fusing nature, physics, and ethical craftsmanship. She has a background in engineering, web development, marketing, and event management, having hosted global artists’ work and set up art events and exhibitions. Its intricate details and organic forms characterise the creative’s designs. Her unique ability to blend traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques makes her work stand out. James is the Head of Engineering. He has a Bachelor of Engineering Honours in Mechanical Engineering from Aston University and is experienced in devel- opment, design, and mechanical engineering. He oversees the design company’s technical design and engineering innovation, helping to create an exception- al jewellery collection that interacts with its wearer. His expertise has been critical in positioning the brand as a cultural movement that merges luxury with respect for nature. The duo merged the worlds of jewellery and engineer- ing to bring life to the traditional art of fine jewellery. The Contrast Club was created as a beautiful middle ground where aesthetics are supported by creative technical design. They make items that go beyond the boundaries of traditional products, pushing the limits of what an object actually is. With their network of artisans and professional jewellery engineers, each piece goes through a meticulous development process before being presented to the public.
