Bobkova K ristina Bobkova’s SS24 collection celebrated her love for gardens and Ukraine’s deep connection to nature. Inspired by the mallow flower, a symbol of protection and closely tied to her homeland, the designer collaborated with Ukrainian artist Polina Moroz to create a stunning mauve print that dominated many of her designs. Despite the delicate inspiration, her signature strength and femininity shone through in every look. Masculine pantsuits with oversized shoulders were paired with wide or formfitting pants. At the same time, dresses ranged from flowing silks with bias cuts to knitted pieces, embodying a sense of versatility and sophistication. Handmade details, such as visible seams and cuts, added a touch of uniqueness and imperfection, further enhancing the collection’s charm. The colour palette reflected the subtle tones of the mallow flower, ranging from vanilla and milky lime green to muted pink and grey-beige shades. Bold and fresh tones, such as lush green and sunny yellow, reminiscent of Ukraine’s landscapes, injected vibrancy into the collection. Accessories, crafted in collaboration with Ukrainian ceramic artist Jeva Smith, echoed the floral theme with elaborately crafted porcelain earrings, necklaces, and ornaments, adding a whimsical touch to the ensembles. Based in Kyiv, Kristina ensures all her collections are made from sustainable and upcycled materials, aligning with her commitment to environmental responsibility. Making its mark at Berlin Fashion Week once again, Bobkova’s show at the garden of the Kronprinzenpalais (Crown Prince Palace) showcased her third collection at the event. Reflecting on the opportunity to show her designs in Berlin, the designer expressed her pride in presenting contemporary Ukrainian culture to a global audience, underscoring the city’s status as a hub for young and exciting fashion.
