The Bite Magazine - Spring/Summer 2024 - Issue 35

bitecatwalk Mithridate I ’ve been swooning over this col- lection for months now! I adore the colour scheme, the layering, the mingling of textures, the beauti- ful detailing, and the pretty styling! Mithridate creative director Demon Zhang drew on her Chinese heritage and medical herbs (24 in all) as a muse for this gorgeous collection, featuring her desire to find the ‘cure’ as a result and process on a secluded island. What first caught my eye was the soft mint colour. It appeared in nearly every look and added a fresh, organic, and clean quality. All 63 looks were perfectly styled. The hair, the make-up, shoes, earrings, bags, and the most insane bedazzled bucket hats I’ve ever seen and must now own, the gender blending of menswear and womens- wear—it all works. But what made me sit on the edge of my seat was the intricate embroidery and floral designs, the simmering sequins and lacy appliqués on the nude sheer mesh of the tops and gowns. So many of these looks could be disassem- bled and blended seamlessly into any- one’s current wardrobe. For example, the second-to-last look would make a breathtaking wedding gown ideal for a garden ceremony. As a whole, I want it all—everything! https://mithridate.com
