bitefilms Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga T he prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road focuses on the young Furiosa, played by Anya Taylor-Joy, who be- comes the war rig-driving badass imperator por- trayed by Charlize Theron in the 2015 film. Academy award-winning mastermind George Miller's Furiosa: AMad Max Saga sees the main character devote her life to finding her way home after she is kidnapped. As she faces trials, the young warrior becomes more substantial, an extraordinary driver and expert in wasteland survival, rising through Im- mortan Joe’s ranks. The film is set 45 years after a significant societal and eco- logical collapse where traditional power structures have been rendered moot, and loosely organised tribes populate a largely desolate land. Furiosa is snatched from her home in the Green Place of Many Mothers, a matriarchal, re- source-rich society, by the roving Biker Horde, led by War- lord Dementus, portrayed by Chris Hemsworth. Sweeping through the wasteland, they come across the citadel presid- ed over by Immortan Joe, where she has to fight to survive.
