The Bite Magazine - Spring/Summer 2023 - Issue 33
bitecatwalk D rama, drama, drama! While there’s something to be said for ready-to-wear, nothing beats the the- atrical magic of haute couture! Who doesn’t want this kind of fashionable enchantment in their lives? Claro Couture presented 32 looks this season to continue as the second arm for the Claro brand, known now as the newly formed New Claro. This house branch aims to produce col- lections that feature more accessible and wearable 'demi cou- ture' pieces. As such, this season's colour palette remained consistent with the previous lines; only they added a very ethereal powder blue and rich rosy pink to the already estab- lished white, metallic and black palette. This SS23 collection bestowed the same expert designs, tai- loring and silhouettes Claro is known for. Now, what I loved about this show was the obtainable pageantry of it all. Looks #5, #28 and #29 were like a glorious, glamorous Hellraiser creation perfect for any avant-garde editorial spread. My favourite look, however, had to be look #7. The cut of this simple shift column dress was classic and understated, while the texture of the silver fabric was futuristic and modern. I'm still trying to get on board with the glittering, fringed rhine- stone bra appliques, but it must still be couture. https://fernandoclaro.com/en CLARO COUTURE
