The Bite Magazine - Spring/Summer 2023 - Issue 33
bitecatwalk I admire anyone who can seamlessly blend the ease of sportswear, the sex appeal of lingerie and swimwear and the chicness of ladylike silhouettes and concoct a collection that appeals to everyone re- gardless of age or size! It takes guts to push the lim- its in producing a wide range of pieces for a single collection without focusing on one specific client, customer or buyer. Aurelia Gil, however, has done just that with this SS23 collection. Complete with its sweet and tangy citrus colour palette in a range of wearable fabrics that featured everything from bil- lowing silks, crocheted knits, thin and stretchy ne- oprene and breathable cotton; I loved the versatility of this line-up. Each look could be deconstructed and paired with something else, and it would somehow just work or could effortlessly fall into anyone’s existing wardrobe. This collection featured only a few adornments or embellishments but was tailored, edited, and clean. But my favourite look was the skin-tone sheer skirt with two bold, steely grey glittery sequinned bands wrapping the circumference of the calf-length pencil skirt. It’s one of those needed closet essentials that look amazing paired with a simple tee or a sexy silk camisole. https://aureliagil.com/en AURELIA GIL
