bitecatwalk I nspired by various film gen- res throughout history, current designer Núria Sardá hosted a stunning and entertaining catwalk show this season. Statuesque models sashayed down the high gloss black runway in genuine fanciful couture lingerie and swimwear pieces. Some may say the ensembles are too much, too extravagant, but I tell them, ”So why do you like Victoria’s Secret show again?” Exactly! The whimsical fan- tasy is what Andrés Sardá is trying to deliver - wearable luxury fantasy. Sure, these looks are costumes in the grandest sense, but if one factor into each look, one is left with a sensation- al and seductive lingerie brand that will forever be one's only go-to for all underpinnings and swimwear. That's why Andrés Sardá has a dedicated and loyal following. The brand known for its haute couture designs, this collection continued to follow suit. Again taking inspiration from film genres, the show opened with looks based on the classics, like Alfred Hitchcock and his blonde bombshells and Audrey Hepburn’s Dior hat made famous in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. The lingerie was layered teddies, corsets, panties, garters and thigh-high stockings styled with beautiful millinery and long, elegant opera gloves. Flirty feathers and spar- kling accents added drama and flair as well. The next series of looks gradu- ated into outfits inspired by musicals like Moulin Rouge . The pretty, blushing pink coordi- nated set in look #11 was fun and sweetly feminine. The transparent mesh teddy bodysuit was revealing yet covered everything. The fantasy took over from here, and a few clever and witty legitimate catsuits slinked down the catwalk in funky leopard prints. To conclude, the show ended with a series featuring fairytale prin- cesses that were wonderfully trans- lated. Andrés Sardá made the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland, an alluring temptress. Overall, the brand continues to produce a line of obsession-worthy underthings that will make the wearer and those in the audience hot under the collar. www.andressarda.com Andrés Sardá
