The Bite Magazine - Spring/Summer 2023 - Issue 33
bitebeauty Nail Colour Collection beauty collection created by Tajinder. It was born out of her de- sire for eco-colours that care. “I loved glossy gel polish, but my nails were left weak and brittle after the treatment.” Addressing a growing concern about the potential health risks of gel nails, such as skin irritation and cumulative UV exposure, the entrepreneur answered the issue with non-toxic colours that won’t negatively impact the environment or the wearer’s health. “I wanted to create a beauty collection for everyone,” she stated. “That’s why Palette London is vegan and halal accredited; plus, there are plenty of colours to choose from. With the act of creat- ing more comes the need to be eco-responsible, so you’ll discover plant-based formulas, recycled and recyclable packaging and as much circularity as possible.”The founder researched alternatives to make it 70% plant-based, breathable (allowing air and water vapour to reach the nail) and free from 21 harmful ingredients. The unique ‘Super 3’ includes arginine that helps prevent nail breakage; tea tree, known for its antioxidant and antiseptic prop- erties, and nurturing vitamin E, strengthens the nail while re- ducing brittleness, peeling and flaking; and hydrolysed vegeta- ble proteins and amino acids ensure visible conditioning. “I’ve always struggled with nail health after gel manicures, so it was important my formula, while having the glossy, long-lasting gel effect finish, wasn’t damaging.” Palette’s portfolio opens with a rainbow of gel-effect nail colours and cares in glossy paint, base coat and an array of top coats to personalise your shade. The plant-powered nail paints contain sustainable ingredients, including brush bristles made from castor bean oil. The collection includes Natural Palette with a healthy tint or a more profound, natural tone, such as the de- liciously stylish and satisfying dark Praline in a rich à la mode blackish-brown. Toasted Taupe in a barely-there rosy brown feels in vogue and looks the picture of health. “This dash of up-to-the-minute pink twisted with naturalness puts the contemporary in classic.” The shade is a colour chameleon that can always look well-placed against any surroundings and still has enough quirky character to please. Golden Sands in a light beige is understated with a hint of warmth and a carefree twist. The universally flattering shade is excellent for going nude for the first time. Whilst the Signature Palette presents glossy rainbow colours in infinite styles, it has several darker shades such as Liquorice Noir, a daring and sleek blacker-than-black tone and Indigo Ink. This timeless yet avant-garde deep navy looks well-groomed and feels comfortable. The other shades include Vermillion Poppy, a bold and high-spirited smouldering blood red tinged with orange and Celestial Moon, the energising and powerful deep, planetary purple inspired by a bright, super moon in midnight skies. The rich teal Royal Peacock mimics the majestic prowess of a peacock. Seville Sunset in a juicy orange is energetic and chic, bringing “all the goodness you would expect from sunbeams freshly squeezed in a bottle.” In a graceful bright pink, Sakura
