The Bite Magazine - Spring/Summer 2023 - Issue 33

bitebeauty A fter ten years in the beauty indus- try, Tajinder Banwait started Urban Apothecary London in 2012 from her kitchen table. Her love affair with perfume began at a young age, and she desired to layer traditional ingredients of flowers, fruits, resin and woods in unconventional, contem- porary ways. She believed locking memories in fragrances, like a scented snapshot, is a pleasing way to recount special moments such as a walk in the woodland after rainfall or the intriguing perfumed sillage of a passing stranger. She channelled abundant of aromatic botanicals into beautiful bottles to create a unique life- style collection. Today, the candle factory based in Leicestershire houses beautifully crafted, award-winning perfumes. When you light one of the natural vegan candles or place the smart black reeds in the apothecary-style diffuser, a scented story begins to unravel. The aromatic expressions paint an emotional mood inspiring the senses to fall in love with the scent. The vegan ethos continues in Palette London, a plant-based and environmentally friendly Palette London colours Cristina Lloyd’s manicure world with natural vegan nail paints that keeps them healthy and strong.
