The Bite Magazine - Autumn/Winter 2022 - Issue 32

bitefashion A dmittedly, when it comes to tech, I’m old school and jaded; however, with collec- tions like Dolce & Gabbana’s FW22, I am quickly reminded that my view of the fashion world is changing, and I better get with the times. That be- ing said, as trends have been forecasting over the last several seasons, the tech and fashion industries are erasing their divide and merging into one ‘new’ mar- ketplace where the metaverse is now the platform for creating, selling and buying. For SS22, Dolce & Gabbana deeply hinted at this blending and walked a show influenced by emerging technologies by pulling from the noughties styles, showing highly futuristic and modernised versions of its heritage core silhouettes. This influence carried over into this season’s collection with more exagger- ated silhouettes and ensembles of padded shoulders, colourful faux furs, pops of sexy lace, hourglass, egg- shaped puffers and more! The enormous 90-piece collection represents that fashion is no longer for the three-dimensional, organic, natural world but for the virtual super-hyped metaverse! www.dolcegabbana.com/en GABBANA DOLCE &
