Jada Brookes admires Mario Luca Giusti’s synthetic glassware, one of which reminds her of her childhood. bitelifestyle the logo’s ‘G’. The following year, the Saint-Tropez brand opened on Avenue Marechal Foch, followed by Milan, Rome and Portoferraio, Italy. The second Florentine bou- tique opened in via della Spada 20R. For centuries, crystal glassware has enriched the aris- tocratic tables of European tables, the extraordinary treasures of maharajas and the exotic charm of the great explorations of the late 19th century. The creative’s new collection with synthetic crystal mimicking the beauty of crystal and melamine, recreating the shine on porcelain and gemstones, brings fascinating pop colours and joie de vivre to the table. Melissa pineapple holders in ruby, clear, green, gold, ruby/green and green/rub reincarnate the desire for an exotic atmosphere characterising the Orientalist art movement of the mid-19th century. The pineapple-shaped holder evokes the adventurous travels of great navigators, the palm trees’ beauty and the fruit’s richness. “The pineapple is perhaps the most decorative fruit you can find,” Giusti said. “It resembles a flower and has exquisite colours: brown and green reveal the golden treasure inside. It is a flavourful fruit rich in fibre, colour, and nutrients. By looking at it, we thrive on spirituality; by eating it, we absorb its strength.” Pineap- ples of varied sizes flourish on the table to add a touch of eccentric elegance, while Caterina & Vittoria pineap- ple-shaped salt and pepper set in blue, green, clear, and ruby recalls its shape in smaller dimensions. The Lapislazzulo plates collection is dedicated to the treasures of maharajas. The deep blue colour that recalls the distinctive tone of lapis lazuli is embellished with golden veins that have become precious light details. The melamine recreates the hand-feel and the gloss of ex- pertly polished lapis lazuli. The novella water and wine glasses reinterpret the traditional art of crystal making. Its prominent facets emphasise the elegant shape of the glasses and play with colourful reflections in red, blue, amber and gold. The Susanna cake stand echoes the lines of the Em- pire-style Winston collection and complements the cups, water and wine glasses. Classic and contemporary style, art and design, tradition and creativity enhance the Mario Luca Giusti table, while glassware, plates and ac- cessories blend their colours with an irresistible decon- structed elegance.
