The Bite Magazine - Autumn/Winter 2022 - Issue 32
bitemen Zegna E ntitled ‘A Path Worth Taking’, Zegna’s AW22 collection was a tribute to its newly reformed internal workings. The brand has made dramatic shifts and cuts under its umbrella to solidify into one united label that will be solely focused on. This runway collection mirrors this desire to unite and execute onto one singular path. In this case, the runway show was shot on location at Zegna’s Oasis and in a Milan TV studio over five days with an impressive crew of 80 people. The show was a beautiful video montage of nature and man walking in stylish harmony. CEO Gildo Zegna’s and artistic director Alessandro Sartori’s goal is to recreate the traditional abito (suit) into il nuovo abito (the new suit). Gone are some common constructional elements like buttoned cuffs or notched labels; a freer, dare I say, a tad more relaxed suit- ing took its place. Zippers, pull ties, thinly padded pants that ta- pered the leg, jackets that were either slightly cropped or length- ened and a significant addition of oversized pieces in everything from luxurious woollen outerwear pieces and pants to more fitted shirts and knitwear. The collection was beautiful from beginning to end, and the video was extremely well done and entertaining. Zegna may have trimmed the fat, but the brand is still growing regarding wearable and obtainable stylish clothing for fashion-fo- cused males. www.zegna.com/uk-en
