bitefilms A fter the battle events of The Last Knight in 2017, which saw Optimus Prime and Megatron fight it out while seeking their origins from the King Arthurian days, the follow-up directed by Steven Caple Jr and the stand-alone sequel to Bumblebee , Rise of the Beasts goes primal. Set in 1994, a pair of human archae- ologists from Brooklyn get involved in an ancient conflict through a globetrotting adventure with the Autobots tied to three faction Transformers races: the Maximals, the Predacons and the Terrocons. As the trailer says,‘For millions of years, our world has transformed, but something else has awakened.” A giant robotic gorilla suddenly springs from the rocks into the water in front of a trekking couple walking in the forest, roaring and pounding its chest before Prime appears and tells him to stand down. “I’m not the one to fear,” he tells him.“There is a darkness coming.”What exactly is this darkness? We’ll soon find out when the film comes to the screen. In the meantime, a teenager becomes the new owner of a silver Porsche 964 with a blue stripe down the middle that happens to be Mirage, who made his live-action debut in Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon. He is chased by the police telling him to pull over while Mirage self-drives, but he tells them, “I’m not driving.” Mirage trans- forms with the teenager in the car into multiple versions of itself, with one disappearing before the police car runs into a band of barrels. The film stars Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback with the voice talents of Peter Cullen, Ron Perlman and Peter Dinklage. The Transformers and robotic beasts band together as the darkness looms to fight the enemy. Find out more when it comes to the big screen.
