To create quality, utilise sustainability and ensure the highest level of craftsmanship, POAN’s London design studio works closely with its Italian production partners. “We refrain from using fur and leather in our collections, and are determined to join the movement to replace single-use plastics with biodegradable/ reusable packaging to save our oceans and its inhabitants from irretrievable pollution.” This season, POAN’s SS22 VICE collection is inspired by the iconic Miami Vice series and pays homage to Miami Beach in the 1980s. In this collection, you will find sunset hues of pinks, yellows, and oranges, alongside aqua blues and shimmering black and gold of art deco nights. The brand collaborated with Lon- don-based artist Nettie Wakefield to produce two pop-colour t-shirt prints using pencil and watercolours which personify the laid-back cafe culture of daytime along Ocean Drive. The womenswear line includes a playsuit, bralette and a beauti- fully mindful ‘Ocean Trash’ print to highlight the polluting of the seas and oceans. Lightweight fabrics marry the brand’s signature woven with knitted textures to provide ventilation and ease of movement, while organic cotton, linen and towelling are evocative of wet, salty skin drying as the sun sets. The translucent qualities of the sky and ocean are echoed in the new use of dip-dye in the denim pieces, Apollo hoodie and classic ‘World Map’ bomber. Eighties fashion shines through with POAN’s take on the shell suit offered in the ‘Ocean Drive’ fender trousers and zip hoodie. “A summery, graphic-heavy play on athleisure [with] no need for the white Testarossa Sonny.” For those who are not familiar with the cult classic Miami Vice, the white Ferrari Testarossa was driven by detective James ‘Sonny’ Crockett played by Don Johnson in the original series from 1984 to 1990 and then Colin Farrell in the 2006 feature film. The embroidered World Map Bomber Pink Dip Dye in cotton with the lining in viscose borrows its shape from traditional bomber styles and embodies what POAN stands for. It has a zip- through design that opens to reveal the trademark ink splatter print lining. In a sleeveless and regular-fit style that is generous enough to layer up, the Ghada Denim Vest arrives in a gorgeous dip-dye effect, featuring a jacquard-knitted argyle motif panelling on the back and a raw edge finish. POAN encourages us to make a bold statement in their Denim Skinny Jeans. Made from cotton twill and blended with a hint of elastane, the snug-fitted jeans are dip-dyed in pink and feature a raw edge finish. Why not wear this with Ghada Denim Vest and Paradise Café t-shirt in black for a laid-back style? Whether it is the Cher Knitted Dress or Catsuit, both will showcase your curves in a figure-hugging silhouette. In a soft white viscose blend, the dress and catsuit feature a close rib-knit pattern. The catsuit also available in black joins at the waist to a triangle bralette within the middle that ties around the back and neck to form a halter neckline. It falls into a subtle flared leg that ruffles at the ankles to finish. Gabriel Dress Paradise in gradient hues is knitted from a linen-viscose blend and has a relaxed silhou- ette with intarsia pockets and features flared sleeves finished in maglia Inglese. Men will look good in the Ikarus Knitted Lurex Shirt which is designed to glisten as it catches the light thanks to the transpar- ent knitted lurex blend of cotton, polyamide and polyester. This loosely tailored fit has a hidden button roll-closure. Pair this with the Nicholas Knitted Lurex Blazer made from a cotton and pol- yamide blend which will also glisten under the sun. It also has a loosely tailored fit with a three-pocket design on the front and an ink splatter patterned binding to finish. The linen-crafted Ikarus Shirt Ocean Trash featuring a concealed placket front and sharp collar is a colourful staple that will elevate your shirt collection. It has a regular silhouette and is patterned with the captivating Ocean Trash print to represent the oceans’ harmful conditions. Mindfully created by London-based artist Nettie Wakefield, this eye-catching shirt raises awareness of how we live each day. The print highlights the pollution of the seas, oceans and the harm to animals. With the brand’s signature bold letters across the bottom, the printed Ocean Drive Brieuc Shirt in black is super lightweight thanks to its nylon construction and features a jacquard-knit- ted argyle motif panelling on the back. The regular-fit over- shirt is loose enough to be worn over other layers while the shorts are constructed with panels cut with a raw edge finish to create a gradient effect and blended with a small amount of elastane to provide a hint of stretch for added comfort.
