bitenightlife front. As she shook her butt vigorously, the audience went crazy and then she proceeded to shake her boobs in the same way. Fou Fou worked the stage, ending her set with Lady Gaga’s The Edge of Glory and singing along to the track while getting the audience to stand and clap with her. It was a unique and refresh- ing performance. With her gothic look and jet black hair, Sian Black, wearing a purple Arabian-style lacy wraparound, with the material draped across her breasts and down from the waist, charmed us with a mysterious, sultry strip burlesque performance to I Monster’s Who Is She? After demanding our attention, she removed the wraparound and sheath to reveal a black and red sparkly bra and briefs and made some sexy moves on the floor. Eventually, she discarded her bra to reveal gold nipple tassels. Bettsie was enchanted by Sian’s mesmerising performance and excellent song choice. She noted that she was still in the movement and loved the shapes she made, but she should have taken a bow at the end. Tempest said she was obsessed with how hypnotic Sian was and her presence on the stage. She added there was no rush, which made the performance intoxicat- ing. Gwendoline liked the fluidity of the strip tease and the artistry in Sian’s armmovements. The last act was Turkish Delight, who is in- spired by Turkish culture. Clothed in an olive foil dress, the performer carried a large veg- etable skewer that she seductively pretended to lick while twisting her hips and dancing to Donato Plögert’s Döner Kebab around the stage. She teased the crowd as she took off her dress, wearing a green sequinned bra with red pepper decorations. She held the skewer be- tween her teeth and took off her red suspend- ers from the waist. On her performance, Gwendoline said she had never seen an erotic kebab before and liked the idea of “flipping your bra off with said kebab,” which was a bold move. Tempest found Turk- ish Delight “tasty and delicious” and said she had incredible dance lines, strip tease and per- formance techniques but needed to pay atten- tion to how she discarded clothing or props. Bettsie said Turkish Delight used the floor well and loved her costume colours. She added that costume choice is essential. To end the evening, we were treated to a com- edy performance by Tempest Rose, who made us laugh trying to get into a pair of skinny jeans and heels without falling over. While Bettsie Bon Bon, wearing a gorgeous purple dress with a fascinator on her head, and carry- ing a purple umbrella, danced sensually to Ri- hanna’s Umbrella and Prince’s Purple Rain. She slid her gloves off and swung them around, undoing her dress to reveal a glittering bustier with a lace train, slapping her rear and rustling her hair seductively. After these performances, it was time to reveal the winner of this Burlesque Idol heat. In sec- ond place was Pixie Papillon, whom I voted for, and in first place, Fou Fou Kaboom, who ascended out of the hard, cracking egg. The burlesque competition was delightful thanks to the comedic Delores Deluxe and the three judges who kept us thoroughly entertained. Burlesque Idol is held at the Hippodrome Casino every month, with the 2022 final heat in November. Check their website for other tempting events. https://www.houseofburlesque.co.uk
