The Bite Magazine - Spring/Summer 2022 - Issue 31

BRONX bitecatwalk B ronx and Banco encapsulated a chic and sexy design signa- ture adored by celebrities, socialites and sophisticated career women alike. The Australian label launched in 2003, quickly garnered a rapid following and serious international retail attention. They are favoured by celebrities, including Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Ciara, Miley Cyrus, and Paris Hilton. If that’s not enough, their gowns can also be regularly found on the Oscar, Golden Globe, Cannes and AACTA (Australian Academy of Cinema and Television arts Award) red carpets. The Bronx and Banco DNA reflects the impeccable style of the label’s Russian-born and Australian-raised founder and creative direc- tor, Natalie De Banco. She opened her first boutique at Australia’s iconic Bondi Beach while studying design at Enmore Design School in Sydney, Australia. Inspired by global travel, exotic location, unique characters and cosmopolitan adventures, De Banco’s collections are full of feminine, fun, flamboyant and flattering silhouettes that reflect a worldly woman who is the ideal blend of strength, confidence, and trend. This year’s runway featured daring slits, sleek curves, and cut-out details that remained constant throughout the collection. A sheer, satin-like fabric interweaved in a crisscrossed arrangement across a woman’s body, permitted a glimpse of the torso and was wrapped around the waist to concoct an open, wavy style in the bottom. The use of sheer fabric occurred multiple times as it reappeared in the other attires, clothing the chest and the bottom parts of the body with light material before cinched at the abdomen to resemble a garter hair clip. Such a method of clip-like tie slid through the ter- racotta-hued fabric for a swimwear cover-up, the chest displaying a split and forming the shapes of two crescent moons. https://bronxandbanco.com BANCO D NEW YORK SS/22 FASHION WEEK
