One of her first designs, Victoria Bandeau, is a strapless crop top and high-waisted wide-leg trousers set that holds secrets and revelation in one. “I love a wearable dramatic look. Something that turns heads for the right reasons.” Trailblazer Georgia is a sleeveless jumpsuit with a plunging neckline and bands under the breasts and waist, adjoining the high-waisted slim trousers. It has criss-cross detailing on the back, which tells onlookers, “My back is a feature for followers to admire”. Aspen, a thigh-length shirt dress with a tie-waist, is the daydreamer that flows and floats through life. Another daydreamer piece is Naia, an open- neck shirt and tie-waist, and long wide-leg pants set. Firestarter Sydney, a sleeveless wrap top with a wide tie-waist and long wide-leg pants, is wild and free to dance on the sand. IB prefers to construct instead of sketching designs. To her, durable fabric, a great fit and the way you feel when you wear it makes a quality article. “I like fabrics that travel well. It’s a bit frustrating to be wrangled before you even get to your destination.” IB counts Sally LaPointe, Galvin London and Cushnie et Ochs as designers she is inspired by and would love to dress Jennifer Lopez and Celine Dion. When asked about her accomplishments as a designer, she said, “As a new brand, every day is an accomplishment. Whether it’s having clients request pieces they saw on a friend and loved or getting stylists to pull [designs] for magazine shoots. Little or big, I feel gratitude for each of these moments.” To aspiring designers, she would advise them to “think about what the customer wants. Think about solving a problem in the market. Think about the environment. Think about waste.” IB wants every woman who wears Lola Tara to feel empowered and beautiful for the present and future. “I want to have a presence in all the big hubs in every country.
