S piros Stefanoudakis made his dream come true by establishing his fashion house in 2012. Equipped with creativity and the will to evolve, the designer did not study fashion but participated in the Athens Fashion Week in October 2012, showing a small collection in the young designers’ category. He then participated in the March 2013 Fashion Week, where he was awarded ‘Best New Designer’, which helped kickstart his career. He was then honoured with the Entrepreneurship Award by the business association of his birthplace, Poros, a small Greek island-pair in the southern part of the Saronic Gulf. His fashion shows were played on the Fashion Chanel channels in Russia and England. His garments are also seen at red carpet events and music awards through collaborations with top performing artists and established celebrities. In 2015, Spiros opened his atelier where he honed his crea- tivity in haute couture and produced evening gowns, tailored wedding dresses using exceptional aesthetics and amazing men’s suits in lines that only he can perform. His website enables the designer to present his prêt-à-porter collections, which are sold at dozens of collaborating stores in Greece and various other places in the world. This latest couture collection entitled ‘Blue Velvet’ is mostly velvet which is the designer’s favourite material. It is soft and sensual but also mysterious, like his country of origin, Greece. In this collection, the Spiros Stefanoudakis woman is the Dorothy Vallens (from the movie Blue Velvet ) of modern times; femme fatale but delicate. With vertiginous slits and pleats executed to perfection, it highlights the feminine curves. The colours combine with the vitality of summer: royal blue and flashy pink for the day, and deep green and black for the long summer nights. All in all, it is a graphic, chic and sensual collection. https://spirosstefanoudakis.com bitecatwalk
